Our Story
Ready to Grow was born in 2020 right after COVID-19 arrived. Our founder, Angelica Hildebrandt Zapata, realized the urgent need in the Latinx community to access culturally relevant training and coaching programs that help them navigate and overcome not only the challenges of the pandemic but the continuing social inequities and personal stressors people were going through.
In 2021, Ready To Grow began to partner with community based organizations and wellness providers that wanted to support the mental, physical and emotional health of the community using mindfulness practices that are trauma- sensitive and meaningful to their specific needs.
In 2022, we decided to open our mindfulness offerings to the public through the creation of Grow Academy in order to expand our reach to the Spanish speaking community in the US and LatinAmerica.
Our Mission
Our mission is to facilitate the awakening of the collective consciousness by creating and sharing mindfulness-based education programs that support people’s mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

Program Manager
Learn more about me
Angie was born and raised in Colombia. She is an environmental engineer and has post graduate studies in occupational health, safety and environment. She moved to Canada in 2010 and has worked with engineering professional services firms and transportation companies in both countries. Looking for complementary methods to heal her physical body, she realized that true wellness involves a mental, physical, emotional and spiritual balance, and started experimenting with practices such as tai chi, mindfulness, grounding, yoga, inner child healing, among others. This quest kindled her desire to support others in their own health journey, and led her to complete the Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT™), a Healthy Eating and Lifestyle Certification, and to enroll into the Health Coach Training Program offered by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).
Angélica is currently hosting Unidas Sanamos, an online women’s circle in which Spanish-speaking women who live in different countries forge new connections, support each other, and share their knowledge or experience on health and well-being topics. Angie loves traveling, spending time in nature, reading, exploring food from different cultures, and chasing aurora borealis.
